Theo spends his eighteenth birthday alone at a punk rock concert. Afterwards, he stops in at a nearby coffee shop where he meets the slightly younger, confident and talkative Meg. She spots his fake tattoo right away and makes a joke about it. The two teenagers start talking about favorite bands and plans for the future and quote lines from favorite songs by cult bands. Meg invites Theo to spend the night and their casual encounter turns into a passionate affair. But Theo has a secret: he’s planning to move to another town soon. Canadian director Pascal Plante uses the conventions of teenage love stories against an energetic punk rock soundtrack, reflecting the tastes of his lead characters, played vividly and convincingly by Anthony Therrien and Rose-Marie Perreault. They draw the audience along into the fascinating world of teen obsessions, violent emotions and larger than life problems.
