Adam has been working abroad for some time, but now it’s Christmas Eve and he’s coming home. At first he hides the real reason for his visit, but then he gradually starts to let his relatives in on the secret plan he’s come up with. They don’t seem thrilled with his idea and to make matters worse, he has to get the approval of his father, sister and brother, with whom he has been at odds, to implement the plan. The situation gets further complicated when Adam announces that he will soon be a father. Arguments are set aside for a while: tradition is sacred. And tradition involves a few liters of alcohol on the table. No one realizes just how much this Christmas Eve will impact their lives. This family portrait is a mirror in which the Polish national traits are reflected. In his debut feature Piotr Domalewski accurately skewers those weaknesses, with a touch humor for good balance. For example, a scene depicting one of the most important Polish Christmas traditions: watching the Christmas classic Home Alone on TV. A Polish self-portrait, funny and scary at the same time
